One Game Weekend

Jacksonville Jaguars 23 Oakland Raiders 26 OT

It was a fun game to watch and a nice win for the Oakland Raiders to pick up their second victory of the season over the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-23 in overtime. The Oakland Raiders trailed 20-6 in the third quarter and it appeared to be heading for another L in the loss column, but with a good defensive second half performance and a good performance by quarterback Carson Palmer they found a way to claw back and force overtime. In overtime wide receiver Cecil Shorts fumbled on Jacksonville’s first possession and then clutch kicker Sebastian Janikowski lined up a 40 yarder and knocked it in for the comeback win by the Oakland Raiders. Although Jaguars were missing starting running back Maurice Jones-Drew and starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert who was injured in the second quarter, the Raiders will still gladly take a much needed victory.

Tyler’s Player of the Game for Each Team

Oakland-Sebastian Janikowski helped in a great way by going 4/5 on field goals including the 40 yard game winner and also was 2/2 on extra points. He scored a total of 14 of the Raiders 26 points.

Jacksonville-Nobody stood out for the Jaguars on Sunday but a fun fact is that kicker Josh Scobee made 3 field goals and now has 178 career field goals which broke the old team mark of 175.

Chiefs News

Big news from the Kansas City Chiefs is that Brady Quinn has been moved to starter for Sunday’s game and Matt Cassel will be the back-up. I know there are people out there who will not support this decision at all, but I am one that is going to stand behind this team and this coaching staff and hope for the best. I will be attending this Sunday’s game and I am really looking forward to seeing a Chiefs victory over their division rivals the Oakland Raiders.
